This course will focus on the beginnings of creating a painting. Your first marks - or what is normally called the "drawing" process will be covered in depth.
You'll also see Ethan show a demonstration of transferring a photograph on the painting surface. A method you may want to use. It's up to you.
During the drawing part of the picture making process, you'll watch as it moves right into the underpainting stage. Maybe the most important stage in the entire painting.
Watch as a painting is prepared for the overlayers that will eventually be put on, but not before the underpainting has been done to make the overpainting layers possible.

Ethan Daniel
A contemporary painter from New York City. He also has a passion for teaching art and has taught thousands of people throughout the world with his online instruction.
He studied at the National Academy of Design School of Fine Arts in New York City and the Florence Academy of Art, in Italy. As a student, he copied the masters extensively in museums in North America and Italy.
